Commission: Arrowsmith Financial Services Ltd is paid in the form of commission by the insurance company or KiwiSaver fund that you place our recommended products with. The amount of commission is based on the amount of the premium for insurance or KiwiSaver balance. These commissions vary depending on the product provider used and will be detailed at the time any advice is provided to you.

Fees and charges: At Arrowsmith Financial Services we do not charge fees, expenses or any other amount for any financial advice we provide to our clients.

Managing conflicts of interest: To ensure that we prioritise your interests above our own, we follow an advice process that ensures our recommendations are based on your objectives, needs and circumstances. We further manage possible conflicts of interest by:

  • Choosing product providers based on your needs and not on the commission we may receive
  • Avoiding any production requirements for one product provider
  • Not accepting any gifts or incentives offered by product providers
  • Having access to a range of product providers
  • Using third party product research as part of our analysis

Our internal complaints process:

  • We will consider your complaint and let you know how we intend to resolve it. Where possible, we try to resolve your complaint immediately.
  • If we are unable to resolve your complaint immediately, we will acknowledge it within 2 business days. We may contact you to get further information.
  • We aim to resolve complaints within 10 working days. If we need more time, we will let you know when you can expect a response.
  • We will contact you by phone, email, or letter to let you know whether we can resolve your complaint and how we propose to do so.

If we cannot agree on how to fix the issue, or if you decide not to use our internal complaints process, you can contact our external disputes resolution scheme, Financial Services Complaints Ltd. They provide a free and independent dispute resolution service.

Arrowsmith Financial Services collects and holds personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. We take our obligations seriously and are committed to protecting your information.

What we collect and why: We collect personal information including your contact details, financial circumstances, health information, and employment details. This information is collected for the purpose of providing you with personalised financial advice, arranging insurance cover, and meeting our regulatory obligations.

How we store your information: Your information is held securely using password-protected digital systems with encryption and restricted access. We retain client records for a minimum of seven years from the date of last advice or service, as required by our regulatory obligations.

Who we share it with: We only share your personal information with insurance providers and other third parties where it is necessary to arrange or administer your cover, or where we are required to by law. When we share your information with insurers and product providers, each provider collects that information under their own privacy statement, which explains how they use your data and how you can access or correct it. Each provider's privacy statement can be found on their website, or we can provide it to you on request. Full details, including links to each provider's privacy statement, are included in the Disclosure Statement we provide at the start of the advice process. Your information will not be provided to any party outside of this authorisation without your written consent.

Your rights: Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of any inaccurate information
  • Ask how your information is being used or has been disclosed

Data breaches: In the event of a privacy breach that may cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Privacy Commissioner as required under the Privacy Act 2020.
